The entarnace to the bunker looks pretty ordinary.
You'd never suspect the three story, football pitch sized complex underground.

Interesting 500 Guzzi that joined us for the run.

Run out to Holmpton Bunker

Nine bikes and riders assembled at Beverley for the run to Holmpton Bunker.
Two 350 Classics,
One 500 Classic,
One Sixty-Five,
One EFI Classic,
One EFI Trials,
One Meteor Twin,
One 500 Moto Guzzi (see picture)
One Honda CG125.

The weather started us off with a shower which we seemed to follow all the way down through Holderness to Withernsea but managed to just wet the roads and not us.

After refreshments at Withernsea we continued to Holmpton for the tour of the Bunker.

The installation is left over from the cold war and was intended to co-ordinate military activity in the event of nuclear attack. Parts of it are still operational and off limits, but the tour was well put together and very interesting. I was particularly pleased that they avoid the "dumbing down" which is found in too many museums these days.
Well worth a visit.
